Metabo HPT® has a loyal following, but its battery platform holds a smaller share of the US cordless market, and horn makers — us included — haven't tooled a native mount for it. The Adapter Route: MultiVolt Pack In, Milwaukee- or DeWalt-Mount Horn On
Third-party adapters that take a Metabo HPT®/Hitachi® 18V slide battery on one end and present a DeWalt® 20V MAX or Milwaukee® M18 tool mount on the other are sold on Amazon, eBay, and specialty adapter shops. Because a MultiVolt pack is a standard Metabo HPT® 18V slide fit, it clicks into these adapters like any of the brand's 18V batteries — and outputs 18V, per the auto-switching behavior above. - Buy the right direction. You want a "Metabo HPT® 18V battery to DeWalt® 20V tool" (or "to Milwaukee® M18 tool") adapter. The reverse product — a DeWalt® battery powering Metabo HPT® tools — is more common in listings and won't help you here.
- These are third-party products. Neither Koki Holdings nor the horn manufacturer warranties the adapter. Fit tolerance and contact quality vary between sellers.
- No charging through the adapter. Charge the MultiVolt pack on its own Metabo HPT® charger, always.
