Worx Train Horn: Portable Power, Real Sound

If you already own Worx® PowerShare® 20V batteries, you're closer to owning a serious portable train horn than you might think. Train Horn Drill builds battery-powered train horns that slot onto widely used 20V battery platforms — no compressor tank, no air lines, no vehicle modification required. Drop in a pack you already own, press the trigger, and get genuine train-horn sound wherever you need it.

Why a Worx® PowerShare®-compatible train horn?

The Worx® PowerShare® 20V system has grown into one of the more recognizable battery platforms in the US market. Positec Group has built the PowerShare line around a single 20V slide-in interface shared across a wide range of tools — meaning millions of households already have at least one compatible battery sitting on a charger right now.

That wide adoption is exactly why it pairs well with a Train Horn Drill unit. You don't need to buy into a new ecosystem. If you mow the lawn, trim hedges, or run a cordless drill with a PowerShare pack, that same battery slots directly into our compatible horn. The 20V nominal voltage sits in a practical sweet spot: enough power to drive our horn mechanism cleanly, while the battery itself stays compact and easy to carry.

PowerShare packs are also available in a broad range of amp-hour capacities — from lightweight 1.5 Ah starter packs to larger 5 Ah and above options — so you can match runtime to your actual use case, whether that's a quick farm errand or an all-day outdoor event. The slide-in mount mechanism is straightforward, and the batteries charge on standard PowerShare chargers you likely already own. It's a genuinely low-friction way to add a loud, portable horn to your toolkit.

Battery compatibility & runtime guidance

Our horns work with the 20V PowerShare battery form factor. Here's how amp-hour capacity generally maps to use:

  • 1.5–2 Ah (compact packs): Good for short, occasional blasts — think driveway alerts, sporting events, or keeping one horn in a bag as a backup. These are light and easy to carry but will exhaust faster under heavy continuous use.
  • 3–5 Ah (mid-range packs): The most common size in most households. Balances weight and runtime well. Suitable for farm use, job sites, parades, or recreational outings where you'll sound the horn regularly but not constantly.
  • 6–9 Ah (high-capacity packs): Better suited to extended sessions — outdoor festivals, all-day events, or situations where you want to minimize battery swaps. Adds some weight but delivers noticeably longer run time per charge.
  • 10+ Ah (extended / high-output packs): Maximum runtime. Overkill for casual use but valuable if you're running the horn in a demanding environment for hours at a stretch. Check that your specific pack fits our battery adapter before purchasing.

Note: No battery is included with any Train Horn Drill product. Use a battery you already own or purchase one separately.

Pick your loudness tier

Dual Trumpet — 130 dB: A solid entry point for personal safety, recreational use, or anyone who wants a genuine horn sound without maximum volume. Good for campers, cyclists, and small farms.

Quad Trumpet — 140 dB: Four horns, noticeably more presence. Suits job sites, larger properties, hunting camps, or anyone who needs to be heard across open ground.

Extreme Series — 150 dB: Serious output for serious situations. Built for large agricultural operations, industrial yards, or events where crowd noise is a real factor.

Boss Series — 150+ dB: Our loudest lineup, engineered for maximum output. When distance and noise competition are both working against you, this is the tier to reach for.

Frequently asked questions

Does my Worx® PowerShare® starter kit battery work with your horns?

Yes. If your battery is a 20V PowerShare slide-in pack, it is compatible with our horn's battery interface. Starter kit packs are typically in the 1.5–2 Ah range, which is enough to power any of our horn tiers. You'll get fewer blasts per charge compared to a larger pack, but the horn will function normally.

Will it work with older or newer generation PowerShare packs?

The PowerShare platform has maintained a consistent 20V slide-in interface across generations, so in most cases both older and newer packs are physically and electrically compatible with our product. If you're unsure about a specific generation, check the voltage label on your battery — if it reads 20V and uses the standard slide-in mount, it should work.

Can I use a third-party Worx® PowerShare®-compatible battery?

Generally yes, provided the third-party pack uses the genuine 20V PowerShare slide-in form factor and delivers stable voltage output. We recommend sticking with reputable battery brands. Poor-quality aftermarket cells can deliver inconsistent voltage, which may affect horn performance or, in rare cases, pose a safety concern.

Will running a train horn drain my battery quickly?

Train horns draw meaningful current each time they sound, but individual blasts are short. A 3–5 Ah pack will handle a large number of typical horn blasts before needing a recharge. Continuous or near-continuous use will drain any battery faster. For heavy use, keep a spare charged pack on hand.

Is a battery included with my purchase?

No. Train Horn Drill products are sold tool-only. No battery or charger is included. This keeps the price fair for customers who already own PowerShare packs, which is most of our buyers in this category.

Do I need any tools or wiring to install the battery?

No wiring is required. Our horns are designed around a slide-in battery mount. Insert your 20V PowerShare pack, lock it in place, and the unit is ready to use. There is no vehicle wiring, no compressor plumbing, and no permanent installation needed.

What is your warranty on the horn itself?

Train Horn Drill stands behind our products with our standard manufacturer warranty, details of which are listed on the individual product pages. The warranty covers the horn unit — it does not cover batteries, which are covered (if at all) by their respective manufacturers.

Our horns are also engineered for compatibility with other popular 20V and 18V/20V battery platforms. If you run multiple brands in your shop or garage, we likely have a compatible option for you:
