  • 101–160Wh: allowed only with airline approval, capped at two spares per passenger. A 6.0Ah 18V-class pack (108Wh) and an 8.0Ah high-output pack (144Wh) both land here.
  • Over 160Wh: not allowed on passenger aircraft at all. A 12.0Ah 18V-class pack (216Wh) stays home.

How to Pack the Horn, the Battery, and the Remote

FAA guidance for power tools is the template to follow, because a battery train horn is regulated exactly like a cordless drill: the safest and recommended method is to remove the battery, put the battery in your carry-on, and check the tool itself. Applied to a horn:
